Success Criteria Week beginning 10-2-14

I copied rhythm and rhyme patterns where appropriate
I used repetition for effect
I used powerful verbs and adjectives
I used some of the following:
·         alliteration
·         personification
·         onomatopoeia
·         similes

Maths Success Criteria


Know what each digit represents in a 3-digit amount of money. £3.25
Multiply and divide by 10 by moving the digits.
Multiply and divide by 10 and 100 (including money)
Understand that division ‘undoes’ multiplication.
 Perform 2-step operations. Pens cost 89p each. You buy 10. How much change will you get from £10.
Add and subtract 0.1 and 1 to/from numbers with one decimal place e.g. 9.9+0.1= 10
Place negative numbers on a line.

Visit from Stitftberg Grundschule



Children from our local school visited this week. The event, organised by Frau Lowe allowed the children to practise their German (and their sign language!). The morning had an animal theme with children jointly working on Art, ICT and other tasks.


The morning was a great success and we are planning a return visit for next term.We finished with a song.....


Maths success criteria for this week

Count in halves and quarters.
Identify fractions equivalent to one half and one quarter.
Identify equivalent fractions up to twelfths with a supporting image
Reduce fractions to their simplest form.
Identify equivalent fifths, tenths and halves and mark them on a line.
Understand the larger the denominator the smaller the unit fraction
Add and subtract fractions with the same denominators within 2 wholes using a fraction line.
Identify equivalent fractions and decimals (0.1s, 1/10s, 1/5s and 1/2s).

















In literacy ,we will be completing our genre of fantasy writing.
Using the characters and settings, prepared for homework,the 
children will be writing their own stories.
