This term we have a fabulous opportunity to record a radio
show. With the help of BFBS presenter, Alex Gill, the children will write and
perform and record an hour long radio show. We are also hoping to visit the
BFBS recording studios for a day.

New success criteria for week beginning 27-1-14
This week we will be measuring and using our new knowledge of decimal numbers.
In Literacy we will be continuing with our genre:Fantasy worlds.
Measure lengths in m and cm and
record.

Convert cm into m and cm.

Measure lengths in cm and mm.
|
Convert lengths from cm to cm and
mm.
|
Weigh items in g and kg to the
nearest 100g.
|
Convert from kg to g and from g
to kg (1dp).
|
Record results in a bar graph, one square
=100g or 0.1kg.
|
We look forward, on Wednesday, to a visit from our local German school.

Success criteria for week beginning 20-1-14
LITERACY
We begin a new genre FANTASY WORLDS. Here is the marking scheme for the next 2 weeks:
In maths we will continue with the success criteria from last week, building on the improvement the children have made with decimal calculations.
In Science we will be completing our unit on KEEPING WARM. Don't forget to bring your insulated cup in for Tuesday's science competition(see homework.)

Success criteria for week beginning 13-1-14
Maths:
Add three 2-digit numbers using partitioning
into 10s and 1s.
