This week's learning.

Our Literacy focus over the next 2 weeks is on non-fiction stories in familiar settings.

These are the success criteria. The higher the number, the more complex the challenge.

 1) I can write a story in paragraphs with a sequence of events, leading towards a suitable resolution and ending.

 2) I can begin to write in paragraphs - a sequence of sentences which tell the reader more about a main idea/event/character.

 3) I can use connectives and conjunctions to link ideas.

 4) I can use paragraphs to mark significant changes of events or time.

 5) I can use dialogue to move the story on.

 6) I can use paragraphs to shape my story, marking introduction of significant events, characters, changes in time or place.

Our maths lessons will focus on Place value. The success criteria are as follows. Once again, the further down the list ,the more complex the challenge.

·       I can read 3 digit numbers.
·       I can write 3 digit numbers in numbers and words.
·       I can order 3 and 4 digit numbers.

·       I know the meaning of  < and >

·       I can use < and > between 3 and 4 digit numbers.
·       I can relate the value of coins to 3 and 4 digit numbers.

Children will ,of course, be challenged to go beyond these as formative assessment takes place.
